GABLE — Debra Bell Prescott, 65, wife of Leonard Hodge "L.H." Prescott Jr., of Gable, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, Sept. 9, 2021.

Debra was born on Feb. 19, 1956, in Sumter, to the late James Thomas "Tommy" Bell Sr. and Ophelia Dickerson Bell Faltersack. She was a member of Lewis Chapel United Methodist Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher, Sunday school superintendent and in various other capacities.

Debra is survived by her husband of 44 years; two sons, James F. Prescott (Robin) of Sumter and Chris Prescott (Melissa) of Gable; three grandchildren, Kasey Thomas Prescott, Andy Prescott and Ellie Prescott; three step-granddaughters, Karen Brewton, Alexis McLeod and Mia McLeod; four siblings, James T. Bell Jr., Katherine L. Boyd (David), Billy Bell (Martha) and Phil Martin, all of Sumter; a number of nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Bell of Sumter.

Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Brunson Cemetery with the Rev. Mel Thompson and the Rev. Jerry Watson officiating.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 140 Stoneridge Drive, Suite 210, Columbia, SC 29210 and to Lewis Chapel United Methodist Church, 1510 Plowden Mill Road, Sumter, SC 29153.

Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
