The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an anonymous threat made toward Crestwood High School this afternoon.

Out of “an abundance of caution,” the high school has been placed on lockout with all exterior doors secured and additional law enforcement officers on campus following a threat made this afternoon, according to the school’s Facebook page. The type of threat was not specified in the high school's Facebook post or by the sheriff's office.

“Our top priority is to ensure the safety and well-being of our students and staff," the Facebook post said. "Our pledge to you is that we will take all incidents very seriously and deal with students in accordance with the Sumter School district code of conduct and law enforcement when deemed appropriate.”
