COVID-19 vaccines available in Lee on Friday, in Clarendon on Sunday

The South Carolina Department of Education will host free vaccine clinics in Clarendon and Lee counties this weekend.

In partnership with the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control, the vaccination initiative, In It To Win It, was created to support local school districts, encourage vaccinations and provide information and resources to Clarendon and Lee County residents.

Compared to 76% of the nation, only 49% of eligible Lee County residents have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, according to the Department of Health and Environmental Control's Immunization Online Network.

Lee County residents can receive the vaccine on Friday, Oct. 29, from 9 a.m.-noon at The Lot, 309 N. Main St. in Bishopville. Attendees 12 years and older will be able to receive their first or second dose of the Pfizer vaccine.

CLARENDON

Only 59% of eligible Clarendon County residents have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, compared to the 76% throughout the nation, according to DHEC.

Clarendon County residents can receive the vaccine on Sunday, Oct. 31, from 1-4 p.m. at Summerton Town Hall, 10 Main St. Attendees 12 years and older will be able to receive their first or second dose of the Pfizer vaccine. Adults 18 years and older will be able to receive their first or second dose of the Moderna vaccine or the one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

Recipients of the vaccine will be entered in the chance to win a TV.
