CLYDE YOUNG

Clyde Young, 75, husband of Nellie Montgomery Young, was born on March 2, 1945, in Little Rock, Arkansas, a son of the late Willie and Bernice Deer Young. He departed this life on Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2021, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital in Sumter.

On March 2, 1945, in Little Rock, the late Willie and Bernice Deer Young were blessed with a set of twins, Clarence and our beloved Clyde. Clyde received his education in the public schools of Little Rock and graduated from Horseman High School. Clyde was a true fisherman and Nellie always joined him when he took his boat to Packs Landing in Pinewood. Clyde married the love of his life, Nellie Montgomery Young, and to this union they were blessed with six children. Clyde worked at General Motors in Tarrytown, New York, and after 35 years of service, Clyde retired from Johnson & Johnson in Little Rock.

Clyde leaves to cherish: his children, Lanell Rose, Clyde Demetrius, Derrick DeJuan, Tara LaShawn and Maurice Hasan (Niya); 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; five brothers, Willie (Mena) Young of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Joseph (LaWanda) Young of Atlanta, Clarence Young, David (Brenda) Young of Little Rock, Mickey (Lorraine) Young of Anchorage, Alaska; two sisters, Gwendolyn Young of Little Rock and Peggy Ann Young of Mesa, Arizona; a daughter-in-law, Niya; 12 sisters-in-law; and five brothers-in-law.

Along with his parents in heaven, Clyde is joining his son, Brian Taborish; two brothers, James Earl Young and Don Louis Young; and three sisters, Janie Bishop, Shirlene Alston and Marie Ward-Fields.

Public viewing will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday in the Job's Mortuary Annex.

Moments of reflection will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. on Sunday in Job's Mortuary Annex.
