Closings / schedule changes because of possibility of inclement weather

SUMTER

Sumter School District schools will dismiss early on Friday, Jan. 10. Elementary schools will close at 11 a.m., middle schools will dismiss at 11:30 a.m., and high schools will close at 12:30 p.m., according to district spokeswoman Shelly Galloway, who distributed the news release Thursday afternoon. All after-school activities have also been canceled for Friday.

Morris College in-person classes are canceled and virtual classes will still commence according to Jaraya Johnson, Morris Director of Commuications and Constituent Relations. Dining hall hours: brunch, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., and dinner, 4-6 p.m.

All Tandem Health sites will close at noon on Friday, Jan. 10.

The City of Sumter offices are closing early Friday, Jan. 10, according to Communications and Tourism Director Shelley Kile.


LEE COUNTY

All schools in Lee County School District will dismiss early on Friday, Jan. 10, according to a news release from Shawnta McKenzie with LCSD Office of Human Resources.  Elementary schools will dismiss at 11:30 a.m., and the middle and high schools will dismiss at noon. Additionally, all after-school programs, field trips and extracurricular activities are canceled. Check the district’s website and Facebook page for updates.

CLARENDON COUNTY
Friday, Jan.  10, is an early dismissal day for Clarendon County School District. All after-school activities and athletic events are canceled. Schools will close as follows: Walker Gamble Elementary, Manning Early Childhood Center, Dr. Rose H. Wilder Elementary School and F.E. DuBose Career Center, 11 a.m.; Manning Elementary School, 11:10 a.m.; East Clarendon Middle/High School and Scott's Branch Middle/High School, 11:20 a.m.; Manning Junior High School, 11:30 a.m.; and Manning High School, 11:45 a.m.
