The Sumter Item hosted its first in-person event since the pandemic with Best of Clarendon 2021 on Thursday evening.

More than 200 category winners were celebrated at Blackwater Lodge in Summerton, and those who attended ate dinner provided by Catering for All Occasions and cake and desserts from Lucy's Traditional Southern Bakehouse. The event then moved to an outdoor reception that included the red carpet ceremony, where every winner was announced. Winners in attendance received their award and had their photo taken on the red carpet.
