Clarendon County's 1% School District Tax will expire on June 30, 2025, according to a news release from S.C. Department of Revenue. Beginning July 1, 2025, retailers should stop collecting the 1% School District Tax when making sales and deliveries in Clarendon County. The new Sales Tax rate in Clarendon County will be 7%, reduced from 8%.
Retailers that make sales and deliveries into Clarendon County should not report the School District Tax beginning with their July 2025 return, due Aug. 20, 2025.
South Carolina's statewide Sales and Use Tax rate is 6% with Clarendon County imposing an additional 1% Local Option Tax.
