Clarendon County Sheriff’s Office and Sumter Crime Stoppers announced a reward is available in the death investigation of a man found in a wooded area earlier this month.

A $2,500 reward was announced by Clarendon County Sheriff’s Office and Sumter Crime Stoppers on Monday in the death investigation of 25-year-old Tyrese Lawson.

According to earlier reporting, Lawson’s body was identified after deputies responded to a dirt road in the Home Branch Community between Manning and Paxville on April 14.  A person walking along the road reported seeing “what they thought to be a body in the woods off the roadway.”

Clarendon investigators contacted Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office as the neighboring agency was working on a missing person case involving Lawson. He was last seen in the Santee area of Orangeburg County on April 10, according to earlier reports.

Clarendon sheriff’s office is also searching for Lawson’s black 2010 Nissan Altima with S.C. tag number WPP-671.

Anyone who knows the whereabouts of the vehicle or has information on Lawson's death is asked to call 1-888-CRIME-SC, submit tips to www.midlandscrimestoppers.com or using the P3 Tips app for mobile devices.

Information can also be submitted to Clarendon County Sheriff's Office tipline at (803) 433-8477 if anonymity and a reward are not desired.
