Clarendon Hall's Richardson receives Shine a Light on Education Award

SUMMERTON - Robert Richardson, Clarendon Hall Middle School Bible and history teacher, received the Shine a Light on Education Award on Oct. 21 from Kay Finley and Peggi Sorrell of the Elizabeth Peyre Richardson Manning Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Richardson, a veteran educator who spent many years in the public school system, was nominated by one of his students, Anna K. Finley. He first joined the Saints staff as a substitute teacher in 2020 and joined the faculty full time in 2021.

Clarendon Hall Head of School Russ Jordan stated, "It's an honor to have a teacher on campus that is deserving of this prestigious award. We are blessed to have Mr. Richardson as a strong teacher and a Christ-like example for our students. He is always willing to go to the extra mile for Clarendon Hall and its students."

According to the DAR website, "The DAR, founded in 1890 and headquartered in Washington, D.C., is a nonprofit, nonpolitical volunteer women's service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and securing America's future through better education for children."

Clarendon Hall, 1140 S. Dukes St. in Summerton, is an independent co-educational school for kindergarten 3-year-olds through 12th grade.
