ALCOLU - Clarendon County Sheriff's Office is asking for assistance in locating 24-year-old Lauriano Josefin-Antonio in connection with the Oct. 15 stabbing death of his father, German Josefin.

On Sunday, Clarendon County deputies responded to a residence on Hotel Street in Alcolu where they found G. Josefin lying on the ground in front of the residence. G. Josefin was unresponsive and pronounced dead from a stab wound to the upper body.

Deputies learned G. Josefin had been stabbed inside the residence and that the suspect in the stabbing, Josefin-Antonio, had fled on foot. Witnesses at the scene told deputies there was an altercation between G. Josefin and Josefin-Antonio. It was later determined the victim was the suspect's father.

Once deputies arrived on scene, a perimeter was immediately set up, and Clarendon County Sheriff's Office's K-9 tracking team was contacted. Deputies and the K-9 tracking team searched the entire area around the location, but they were unable to locate the suspect. Deputies along with agents from South Carolina Law Enforcement Division have been searching for Josepin-Antonio since Monday night; however, at the time of this release (2:34 p.m. Oct. 19) they had not been able to locate the suspect.

Law enforcement thinks this was an isolated incident and that there is no immediate danger to the community.

According to Clarendon County Sheriff Tim Baxley, this is an ongoing investigation and anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Josefin-Antonio is asked to call Clarendon County Sheriff's Office at (803) 435-4414 or 911. Callers do not have to identify themselves.
