Clarendon County schools going to virtual learning Friday due to winter weather storm

Officials from both Clarendon School District 2 and 4 announced Wednesday schools will be closed Friday, Jan. 21, due to severe wintry weather anticipated later this week.

Angela Bain, superintendent of Clarendon 4 in Summerton and Turbeville, and Shawn Johnson, superintendent of Clarendon 2 in Manning, said Friday will be an e-learning day for students in both districts. Students and staff will not report to school or the district office on Friday. 

District teachers will post assignments on Google Classroom for the e-learning day. Parents who have questions regarding e-learning should contact their child’s school or check their child’s Google Classroom. 

Lee County School District  announced Wednesday  classes will be taught virtually on Thursday and Friday due to the weather forecast and staff shortages caused by a spike in COVID-19 cases.
