EPRM Manning Chapter of the DAR meeting will be held on Oct. 27

MANNING - The Elizabeth Peyre Richardson Manning Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution invites you to become a part of the organization. The next meeting will be at 4 p.m. Oct. 27 at the Breedin Room, 312 Pine St.

Junior Chamber hosting Clarendon Cup on Oct. 24

MANNING - The Junior Chamber of the Clarendon County Chamber of Commerce is hosting its first Clarendon Cup golf tournament on Oct. 24 at Shannon Greens Golf Club, 1435 Davenport Drive.

The 4-man Captain's Choice tournament offers cash for first-, second- and third-place finishes.

The entry fee of $75 per man or $300 per team includes a round of golf, tee gift, football watch party, Beaufort stew and beverages. The field is limited to 24 teams, and each team must have a combined handicap of 30.

All proceeds from the Clarendon Cup will be donated back into the Clarendon County community.

Storytime at the library is on each Wednesday

MANNING - The Harvin Clarendon County Library, 215 N. Brooks St., will host Storytime at 10:30 a.m. every Wednesday on Facebook live.

The library is also open to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. WiFi is also available in the library's parking lot between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.

Bring your e-waste to Clarendon recycling event Saturday

MANNING - Clarendon County will host a Recycle Your E-Waste event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Clarendon County Administration Building, 411 Sunset Drive. This event is for Clarendon County residents only. No business waste will be accepted.

Accepted items include televisions with screens intact, monitors, video display devices, intact computers, CPUs, keyboards, mice, printers, CD/DVD players, game consoles, small handheld electronics, cellphones, stereo tuners, radios, microwaves and vacuum cleaners.

Items not accepted include refrigerators, washing machines, clothes dryers, dishwashers, mercury-containing devices (thermometers, fire alarms), hazardous waste chemicals, light bulbs, florescent tubes and biowaste.

Shred-with-Us will be on site to shred documents free of charge; however, please do not bring plastic or newspapers for shredding.

Annual Francis Marion Symposium dates set

MANNING - The 18th-annual Francis Marion Symposium will be held Oct. 23-24 at the F.E. DuBose Campus of Central Carolina Technical College, 3351 Sumter Highway.

The symposium explores the Revolutionary War in the South and the life, campaigns and battles fought by Gen. Francis Marion, the Swamp Fox.
