Meet MPD officers at Manning's Summer Fun

MANNING - Manning and Team Manning are sponsoring Summer Fun at the parks throughout the city on Thursdays in July.

Summer Fun will be held at Bellwood Park on July 6.

Frozen pops and picnic goodies will be served free of charge, while supplies last. All attendees will get a chance to visit with Manning Police Department's officers.

Bring a chair and enjoy the fun.

Let's Read Clarendon at Walker Gamble Park

NEW ZION - Let's Read Clarendon will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. July 19 at Walker Gamble Park, 2358 Walker Gamble Road.

Clarendon County Sheriff Tim Baxley will be the guest on July 19 and Young Miss Teen Clarendon County Lexi Goff on July 26.

Children can bring their own books or choose one from the park's mini library.

Everyone is welcome to attend each event.

Camp Happy Days picnic table raffle raising money for camp

MANNING - The Optimist Club of Clarendon County is hosting a picnic table raffle with proceeds benefiting Camp Happy Days, a camp for pediatric cancer patients and their siblings that is held annually at Camp Bob Cooper during the week of July 4.

The picnic table is valued at $1,800.

Tickets are $5 each or $20 for five and can be purchased at Cissy's, 9 Mill St., or by calling (803) 460-8053. Donations for Camp Happy Days are also welcome.

Manning holds Red, White & Blue Celebration on July 3

MANNING - The City of Manning will herald in the Fourth of July with its annual Red, White & Blue Celebration from 6:30 to 11 p.m. Monday, July 3, at the Farmers Market, 21 E. Boyce St.

The celebration will feature music and food. The dazzling fireworks display will begin at 10 p.m.

Bring a chair or a blanket and enjoy the festivities.

Blood drive at Manning Elementary on July 9

MANNING - Historic Ebenezer Church will host an American Red Cross Blood Drive at Manning Elementary School's gym area, 311 W. Boyce St., from 1-6 p.m. Sunday, July 9.

All donors will receive a dry bag and a $20 Amazon Gift Card. All donors will also receive a free health screening prior to donating.
