City of Manning changes date and time of City Council meetings

MANNING - Manning City Council will be meeting at 6 p.m. on every second Tuesday of each month in Council Chambers at 29 W. Boyce St.

The next meeting will be held at 6 p.m. April 11.

Manning Lions Club hosts free Pancake Breakfast March 18

MANNING - The Manning Lions Club is hosting a free pancake breakfast from 7-10 a.m. Saturday, March 18, at the Wyboo Plantation Community Center, 100 Recreation Drive.

A free vision and blood sugar screening will also be offered.

Donations to support the club's vision, hearing and diabetes community service programs will be accepted.

Community Broadcasters 1st Responders Appreciation Night

MANNING - Community Broadcasters LLC has partnered with Bank of Clarendon to host First Responders Appreciation Night 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, at the Clarendon Community Complex's gymnasium that is behind Weldon Auditorium.

Community Broadcasters and the Bank of Clarendon are inviting all first responders to the annual Celebration for our Hometown Heroes.

Dozens of vendors will be on hand honoring our heroes with various freebies. A meal will also be provided.

Open House of Prayer presents Food Giveaway on March 22

SUMMERTON - The Open House of Prayer is holding a food giveaway at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 23, at 1292 Furman Road, Summerton.

The event is also sponsored by Harvest Hope Food Bank.

Recipients can remain in their vehicles to obtain their free box of groceries. It's a pull-up and pick-up event.

Clarendon County Recreation Department is hosting Easter Egg Hunt on April 8

MANNING - The Clarendon County Recreation Department is hosting an Easter Egg Hunt beginning at 10 a.m. April 8 at J.C. Britton Park, 3057 Raccoon Road.

The Easter Egg Hunt is free. Ages will be divided into three categories: age 3 and under on field 2, ages 4-6 on field 3 and ages 7-10 on field 1.

No pre-registration is required. Just show up at 10 a.m. with your basket.

Clarendon Pilot Club to hold Yard Sale on April 1

MANNING - The Clarendon Pilot Club will hold a yard sale from 8 a.m. until noon on April 1 at 17 E. Rigby St.

Our mission is to influence positive change in communities throughout the world. To do this, we come together in friendship and service, focusing on encouraging brain safety and health, and supporting those who care for others.

Clarendon County Recreation Department needs volunteer head coaches

MANNING - The Clarendon County Recreation Department needs a few volunteer head coaches for its baseball and softball leagues.

Striped Bass Festival needs volunteers

MANNING - The Clarendon County Chamber of Commerce is looking for volunteers to help sell Striped Bass Festival T-shirts at its office before the festival as well as volunteers to work as a setup crew, T-shirt sales crew and trash collection crew during the festival.
