Camp Happy Days returns to Clarendon County

MANNING - Camp Happy Days will be celebrated the week of July 4 at Camp Bob Cooper.

The weeklong camp hosts children with cancer and their siblings ages 4-16. There is no charge for the campers. All expenses are paid through donations.

Bill Ellis has been volunteering with Camp Happy Days for more than three decades; however, because of his declining health, he's not out and about as much, but he's still willing to talk to groups about Camp Happy Days and how donations from the community help to make the week of activities so successful.

Ellis said donations can be mailed to his address: 1358 Sportsman Drive, Manning, SC 29102. Checks need to be made out to Camp Happy Days.

Anyone wanting more information on how they can donate items to the event can contact Ellis at (803) 460-7666.
