Harvin Clarendon County Library Board to meet on July 18

MANNING - The Harvin Clarendon County Library Board will meet at 4:30 p.m. July 18 at the Clarendon County Administration Building, 411 Sunset Drive.

The agenda includes a financial report for May 2022 and reports from the librarian, Friends of the Library and the board chairman.

At the meeting the board will also discuss the library's director vacancy as well as a presentation from a potential candidate and the selection of an interim director.

The meeting is open to the public.

Clarendon Consolidated School District holds out-of-district registration

CLARENDON COUNTY - Clarendon Consolidated School District is holding registration for out-of-district students only from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. July 11-14.

In-person-only registration is being held at East Clarendon Middle/High School gymnasium, Scott's Branch Middle/High School gymnasium and at the Manning High School gymnasium.

Registrants are asked to bring a release letter and payment, long-form birth certificate, proof of residency, transcript/report card, Medicaid card (if applicable), a copy of their parent/guardian identification, immunization record, custody/guardianship documents and IEP/504 (if applicable).

Clarendon County Summer Revival will be held July 25-29

CLARENDON COUNTY - The Clarendon County Summer Revival will be held from 6:30-9 p.m. July 25 through 29 at Scott's Branch Football Field.

The theme of the revival is "Faith Based Pastors and Community Leaders are Taking a Stand Against Gun Violence."

Hosted by Elder Albert Thomas, each night of the revival will feature a different worship leader, including Apostle Elizabeth Gibson, Pastor Michael DeCosta, Dr. W. T. Johnson, Pastor Billy Carlisle and Thomas.

Each night of the revival, Linda Kind will be honored. Kind is the mother of Tutu Kind who was killed in June at a graduation party at her home.

Thomas asks that attendees wear orange each night to show their support for ending gun violence.

Free financial workshop will be held July 30

SUMMERTON - A free financial literacy workshop facilitated by Joel Nesbitt, financial adviser with Edward Jones Investments, will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 30, at Summerton Town Hall, 10 Main St.

Join the workshop to enhance your financial knowledge, learn how to develop a realistic budget, learn to build a good credit history, learn to become debt free, and learn to save a dime when you don't have a dime to save.

Manning Farmer's Market now open

MANNING - The Manning Farmer's Market at the corner of East Boyce and North Church streets is now open.

Support your local farmers, produce stands and maybe a few avid gardeners who will be selling their wares at the market from 8 a.m. until noon each Saturday until October.
