Harvin Clarendon County Library hosts play Dec. 3

MANNING - Harvin Clarendon County Library, 215 N. Brooks St., hosts "Holly and the Christmas Kerfuffle" by Porkchop Productions at 3 p.m. Dec. 3.

The 40-minute play is free and focuses on children ages preK-fifth grade.

The play is an installment of the "Holly the Elf" series and provides plenty of laughs as well as lessons in understanding, the gift of giving and learning to put yourself in someone else's shoes.

Crafts, food and more at St. Matthias Annual Christmas Bazaar Dec. 3

SUMMERTON - St. Matthias Anglican Church, 9 N. Dukes St., is hosting its Annual Christmas Bazaar from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 3.

Baked chicken dinners will be on sale for $10 plus a variety of homemade baked goodies, including tomato pies, casseroles, soup and more. Crafts and estate items will also be on sale.

A children's books reading corner will also be featured.

TURBEVILLE - The Town of Turbeville is hosting Christmas on Main on the evening of Dec. 3.

Folks will be treated to "A Small Town Christmas" with an evening of sights, sounds, shopping, food and fellowship.

Historic Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church hosts blood drive Dec. 4 at gymnasium

MANNING - Historic Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church is hosting a Blood Drive from 1-6 p.m. Dec. 4 in the Clarendon County Complex gymnasium, 7 Maple St., located directly behind Weldon Auditorium.

Margaret Walker, a member of Ebenezer and an organizer of the church's numerous blood drives each year, is asking for donations in honor of warriors with sickle cell disease. Patients fighting sickle cell disease may require regular blood transfusions to avoid health crises. You can make all the difference. Please donate.

Dec. 4 donors will receive a $20 Amazon e-Gift card.

Donors can save time on the day of their donation by completing the RapidPass by visiting www.redcross.org/rapidpass.

Donors are asked to eat iron-rich foods and to hydrate.

Chamber hosts Soups, Stews & Sweets on Dec. 6

MANNING - The Clarendon County Chamber of Commerce is hosting Soups, Stews, & Sweets 6-8 p.m. Dec. 6 beginning at Weldon Auditorium, 7 Maple St.

Tickets are $35 and selling fast. Tickets are limited to the first 200 individuals.

Last year, ticket holders were treated to a smorgasbord of delectable goodies including Brunswick stew, chicken and dumplings, shrimp and grits, beef vegetable soup plus cupcakes, cookies and the Southern staple banana pudding.

Goat Island Restaurant and Lounge hosts a Christmas

Grinch Party on Dec. 10

SUMMERTON - The Goat Island Restaurant and Lounge, 9645 Wash Davis Road, is hosting a Christmas Grinch Party from noon until 3 p.m. Dec. 10. The event is free to kids from ages 1 to 12. The party will feature games, crafts, prizes, sweet treats and more. Special appearances will be made by Santa and The Grinch.

Summerton Presbyterian Church hosts Rummage Sale on Dec. 10

SUMMERTON - Summerton Presbyterian Church, 16 S. Cantey St., is hosting a rummage sale from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. Dec. 10.

Just in time for the holidays, the church will have a variety of items for sale, including furniture, housewares, small appliances, decorations, clothes, cookware and plenty of hot chocolate and apple cider to keep everyone in a festive, holiday spirit.

Santa is visiting the Harvin Clarendon County Library on Dec. 15; registration required

MANNING - "The little old driver so lively and quick" also known as Santa Claus will be visiting the Harvin Clarendon County Library, 215 N. Brooks St., from 4:30-6 p.m. Dec. 15.

Join the library for a story, pictures with Santa, crafts, cookies and hot chocolate.

Registration from Dec. 1 through Dec. 12 is required.

St. Matthias Anglican Church Annual Oyster Roast is Jan. 28

SUMMERTON - St. Matthias Anglican Church has tickets on sale now for its Annual Oyster Roast that begins at 6 p.m. Jan. 28 at Flowers Farm Tomato Shed on K.W. Hodge Road, off U.S. 301 south of Manning.

Tickets are $50 per person and can be purchased from church members.

Historically, the event is a sell-out, so get your tickets now. They would make great Christmas gifts.

The oyster roast features delicious steamed oysters, but it also has barbecue, soups, dessert and much more.
