Manning extends Face Mask Ordinance to May 16

MANNING - Manning City Council voted to extend the city's Face Mask Ordinance an additional 60 days until May 16 at its March 15 meeting.

The ordinance mandates that everyone must wear facial masks or coverings when entering, browsing or leaving all retail and food service businesses within the city.

Harvin Library encourages return of past-due books

MANNING - The Harvin Clarendon County Library, 215 N. Brooks St., is not currently charging overdue fees on past-due books.

A book recently returned was due back 64 years ago.

The library recently received a supply of bookmarks from the South Carolina State Library. Each bookmark was a winning design from a South Carolina student in the Make Your Mark Bookmark Contest. Be sure to pick up a bookmark the next time you're in the library.

The library is open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday.

WiFi is available in the library's parking lot between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.

COVID-19 testing is available on weekdays

DHEC-sponsored COVID-19 testing will be open on weekdays at the Clarendon County Health Department, 110 E. Boyce St., Manning, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Preregistration is encouraged. Visit https://scdhec.gov/gettested.

Master Gardeners Pre-Sale on April 15

MANNING - The Clarendon County Master Gardeners will hold a Pre-Sale on heirloom Cherokee Purple and Sun Gold tomato plants from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. April 15 or until all plants are sold.

The sale will be held in the area in front of the gazebo on Keitt Street across from the Land, Parker, and Welch Law Firm.

COVID-19 precautions are being observed. Individuals are asked to wear face masks and to social distance.
