Seacoast Church hosts Block Party on July 13

MANNING - Seacoast Church will host a Block Party from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday, July 13, at 202 Dickson St.

The Unity in Community event will include a backpack giveaway, free cookout, games, waterslide and lots more.

All are welcome.

Clarendon County Coalition hosts community meeting on July 16

MANNING - Attention, residents of Clarendon County! The Clarendon County Coalition wants to hear from you at a Community Listening Session from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, at McLeod Health Clarendon AV Classroom, 10 E. Hospital St.

This is a community listening session to allow community members to come together to discuss ideas for community improvement around a specific topic. It's a guided, one-hour discussion on healthy eating and healthy foods in Clarendon County.

All ages are welcome, and refreshments will be provided.

The meeting is in partnership with the South Carolina Office of Rural Health Investment Opportunity Health.

Harvin Clarendon County Library hosts Writing Workshop beginning july 13

MANNING - Aspiring writers who need a little help can find it at the Harvin Clarendon County Library's Tell-the-Story Write it Right workshop that is being taught by award-winning novelist Rhonda McKnight.

The workshop kicks off from 9 a.m. until noon Saturday, July 14, with the topic, "Creating Emotionally Dynamic Characters and Viewpoint." Additional sessions on different topics will be held from 9 a.m. until noon, July 20, 27 and Aug. 20.

During the week of July 15-18, the library will host "Adventures in Art" from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on July 15; on July 17, Sparky the Firedog visits the library at 10:30 a.m.; and on July 18, the library offers its Summer Adventure Program, "Camp Healthy Kids," at 1 p.m.

Back 2 School Giveaway set for July 27

MANNING - The Back 2 School Giveway will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 27, at Manning Elementary School, 311 W. Boyce St. Drawstring backpacks and school supplies will be distributed while supplies last. Students must be present to receive supplies. Manning Police Department will be on site. Joanne W. Charles Memorial Annual Charity Golf Tournament

SANTEE - The Joanne W. Charles Memorial Annual Charity Golf Tournament will be held Saturday, Aug. 10, at Santee Cooper Country Club, 630 Santee Drive.

Shotgun start will be at 9 a.m. Prizes will be given for closest to the pin, longest drive and putting contest.

Clarendon County School District Summer Feeding Program

MANNING - The Clarendon County School District Summer Feeding Program is sponsored by the district's Office of Student Nutrition.

No-charge breakfast and lunch is available for all children ages 18 and younger. Breakfast is served from 7:30 to 8:15 a.m., and lunch is served from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. All food must be consumed on site. Sites are:

- Dr. Rose H. Wilder Elementary Cafeteria, 9297 Alex Harvin Highway, Summerton;

- Manning Elementary School Cafeteria, 311 W. Boyce St., Manning;

- Manning Early Childhood Center Cafeteria, 2759 Raccoon Road, Manning;

- Manning High School Cafeteria, 2155 Paxville Highway, Manning; and

- East Clarendon Middle and High School Cafeteria, 1171 Pope St., Turbeville.
