First Baptist Missionary Church, 219 S. Washington St., announces:

- Friday, Aug. 9, a food pantry giveaway will be held from 1 p.m. until supplies run out.

- Sunday, Aug. 25, Wednesday and Thursday, Aug. 28-29 - Summer revival services will be held at 10:45 a.m. with the Rev. Justin Gamble, pastor of Mt. - Sunday, Aug. 18, at 10 a.m., there will be a Back to School Worship Service with speaker Dr. Alexander Conyers, president of South Carolina State University in Orangeburg. A light "back-to-school" breakfast will be served at 8:30 a.m. with workshops and presenters afterward in the fellowship hall from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. Topics will include parental support, conferences, back-to-school safety procedures, behaviors and safeguarding parent/student mental health. Speakers and presenters will include Samuel Myers, Sumter School District executive director of operations; Courtney June Wilson, program coordinator II, Department of Public Health; and Jackie Thomas, Willow Drive Elementary principal.

Hearts United (formerly Knitting Hearts), at Bethesda Church of God, 2730 Broad St., announces:

- Saturday, Aug. 10, "Overcoming Your Obstacles" with Pastor Grace Scarlett from 10 a.m. to noon. Grace is a minister, worship leader, songwriter, recording artist and businesswoman who is passionate about seeing women walking in the abundant life God purchased for them. She has a powerful testimony of overcoming obstacles and beating the odds by anchoring her faith to the Word of God and confession. Doors open at 9:45 a.m. Join us for fellowship, meet and greet.
