Charles Madison Harvin, 66, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011, at Clarendon Memorial Hospital in Manning.

Born in Clarendon County, he was a son of the late James G. Sr. and Lou Hodge Harvin. Mr. Harvin was a member of Paxville Baptist Church and was retired from Carolina Furniture Co.

Surviving are a brother, James G. Harvin Jr. of Sumter; two sisters, Judith H. Coonce and husband, Joe, and Peggy H. Lewis and husband, Rusty, all of Sumter; three nieces, Melissa LuAnne Coonce of Sumter, Susan Lewis Easterly and Kelly Christine Lewis, both of Charleston; two nephews, Jody Coonce and Mark W. Varner, both of Sumter; and one great-niece, Angel Coonce of Sumter.

Graveside services were held Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011, in the Paxville Cemetery with the Rev. Jimmy Casey officiating.

Billy Barwick, Eddie Scott, Mark Varner, Mark Etheredge, Wade McLeod, Will Williams and Jody Coonce served as pallbearers.

The family received friends at Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home in Sumter.
