CELESTINE SABB

SUMTER - Celestine Sabb died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2011, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.

Born July 1, 1948, in Summerton, she was a daughter of the late Tommie and Maggie Benbow Sabb. She graduated from Scott's Branch High School in 1967. Following graduation, she moved to New York, where she worked as a mental hygiene therapy aide.

Survivors include her sisters, Lillie Mae (William) Hilton of Manning, Christine Zeglar of West Palm Beach, Fla., Ida Mae Broadwater of Wilmington, N.C., Mary Miller of Queens, N.Y., and Shelia Beaman of Pontiac, Mich.; a brother, Lonnie (Mamie) Sabb of Manning; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 7, 2011, at Society Hill AME Church in Manning. The Rev. Malachi Gibson will provide the eulogy, assisted by the Rev. Effie Hilton. Burial followed in Society Hill AME Church cemetery.

The family received friends at the home, 2630 Durant Lane, Jordan community of Manning.
