CATHERINE "CATHIE" JACKSON

Catherine “Cathie” Jackson of Horatio died on Wednesday, May 15, 2024. She was born in Kittery, Maine, on July 27, 1954. She received a Bachelor of Science and Wildlife and Fisheries Biology from Clemson University, and served for over 20 years as a steward with the National Steeplechase Association.
Also a Sumter Master Gardener, Cathie cultivated beauty in her yard and garden, reflecting her dedication to nature conservancy. Above all, Cathie’s greatest joy was her love of God, family, animals and the natural world. Cathie was a devoted wife and she often shared with her family about her faith in the Lord, love of nature and the joys of life.
Cathie is survived by her mother, Gerry; sisters, Nancy and Sally; two nephews, two nieces and their children. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at the Church of the Holy Comforter in Sumter.
