Minister Carrie Spann, affectionately known to her family as Ida, entered this earth on April 29, 1954, in Lee County to the late Tom and Louise Gifford McDuffie. She departed this earthly life and entered heaven on Friday, June 7, 2024. Minister Carrie married her soulmate and best friend, Elder Edward Spann, on Nov. 19, 1978; from their union, they bore four children who were raised in the Godly way. She was educated in the Lee County public schools and graduated from Bishopville High School with the Class of 1974. She furthered her education at Allen University, where she attended for three years. Striving to finish what she started years before, she obtained her Bachelor’s in Elementary Education and later a Master’s Degree in Education from Ashford University in 2012. She joined Mt. Sinai Holiness Temple of Rembert in 1979, where she was saved, sanctified and filled with the Power of the Holy Ghost.

Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, June 15, 2024, at Mt. Sinai Holiness Temple, 5610 Dinkins Mill Road, Rembert, with Bishop Michael Pressley, pastor.

Interment will follow in Mt. Sinai Holiness Temple Cemetery.
