Carl Kee Mobley, 81, husband of JoAnn Poston Mobley, died on Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021, at his home.

Born on Aug. 3, 1940, in Sumter, he was a son of the late David Kee Mobley and Thelma Taylor Mobley. He was a lifelong member of Grace Baptist Church. Mr. Mobley graduated from Edmunds High School and earned his bachelor degree from the University of South Carolina. He was a partner with D.K. Mobley Batteries for a number of years and retired as an accountant from Prisma Health Tuomey after 32 years of service. He was an avid gun collector.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years; a daughter, Carla Ann Mitchell of Destin, Florida; two grandchildren, Ashley Laurel Mitchell and Matthew Mitchell; a brother, Kent Mobley of Sumter; a sister, Jane Braswell (Larry) of Spartanburg; four nieces and nephews; a special niece, Cheri Truluck (Ingram) of Florence; and special friends, Deanna Galloway of Sumter and Mary Dee Youngblood (Larry) of Turbeville.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jo Melony Mobley.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Florence with the Rev. Dr. Steve Williams officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
