GEORGE STATE UNIVERSITY

ATLANTA - Layne Jennings of Sumter was named to the President's List at Georgia State University for the summer 2021 semester.

To be eligible for the President's List during the summer semester, degree-seeking students with a minimum Georgia State University cumulative GPA of 2.00 must earn a 4.0 GPA for the semester and complete at least 6 semester hours of academic credit with no incompletes.

JO ANNE J. TROW SCHOLARSHIP

FAIRPORT, New York - Dr. Sharon Emerson-Stonnell, president of Alpha Lambda Delta, The Honor Society for First-Year Academic Success, announced that a Jo Anne J. Trow Scholarship in the amount of $1,000 has been awarded to Kevin Carson, a student at the University of South Carolina.

The scholarship is for the 2021-22 academic year. Carson is a Sociology major from Sumter.

UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH CAROLINA AIKEN

AIKEN - The University of South Carolina Aiken celebrates August 2021 graduates. Eric Chavis of Sumter graduated with a Master of Business Administration in Business Administration.

WILLIAMSBURG TECHNICAL COLLEGE

Williamsburg Technical College recently announced the list of students named to the President's List, Dean's List and Merit List for 2021 Summer semester.

The President's List recognizes students who have attended full-time and have earned a term GPA of 4.0. The Dean's List names students who have attended full-time and have earned a semester GPA of 3.5 or better. The Merit List recognizes students who have attended part-time and have earned a term GPA of 3.5 or better.

THE CITADEL

CHARLESTON - Gold stars were awarded to cadets and students at The Citadel who achieved a 3.7 GPA or higher in the spring 2021 semester. Cadets and students who achieve gold star recognition are also placed on The Citadel's dean's list.

The nearly 550 cadets and students recognized for their academic achievements during the spring 2021 semester include Thomas Aycock, Davis Fuller and Ronald Flowers, all of Sumter.

Christian Hines of Sumter is among the nearly 60 cadets recognized for their outstanding work during the spring 2021 semester.

The President's List is one of the most distinguished cadet awards presented by The Citadel. The list is a combination of the Dean's List and the Commandant's Distinguished List and is composed of cadets who contribute the most to their companies while maintaining excellent military and academic records.

The Dean's List is a recognition given to cadets and students who are registered for 12 or more semester hours and whose GPA is 3.20 or higher, with no grade of I (incomplete) and no grade below C for work in a semester.

The nearly 1,100 cadets and students recognized for their academic achievements during the spring 2021 semester include these local cadets and students:

COLUMBIA COLLEGE OF MISSOURI

COLUMBIA, Missouri - Columbia College of Missouri recently announced its dean's list for the Summer Semester (May-August, 2021). To be named to the dean's list, a student must have completed 12 semester hours in a 16-week period and achieved a minimum GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0-point scale.

Among those named to the dean's list is Samantha Davis of Sumter, who attended online.
