Brunson-Byrd
Emily Brunson and Zachary Daniel Byrd were united in marriage at 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, 2019, at Graham Baptist Church in Sumter.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Wentworth Brunson III of Alcolu and the granddaughter of Ms. Lois Ann Hardy and the late Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Wentworth Brunson Jr., all of Alcolu, and the late Mr. James Theron Hardy of Turbeville. She graduated from Clarendon Hall in 2015 and plans to graduate in May 2020 from Florence Darlington Technical College's Radiologic Technology Program.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Henry Byrd of Sumter and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Luther Brown of Wedgefield and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wentworth Byrd Jr. of Sumter. He graduated from Laurence Manning Academy in 2015 and from Central Carolina Technical College's Advanced Mechatronics in 2017. He is employed by Brunson Farms.
The Rev. John Williamson Patrick and the Rev. Norton Durham officiated at the ceremony.
Music was provided by Debbie Cromer, pianist; and Lisa Patrick, vocalist.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a Justin Alexander gown of dupioni silk and a lace jacket made by her grandmother, Ms. Hardy. She carried a designer bouquet of playa blanca roses, salal, Italian ruscus, bells of Ireland, broad-leaf dusty miller and parvula eucalyptus wrapped with a peau de soie ribbon adorned with pearls, diamonds and sequins, and pinned with her grandmother's pendant with her original handwritten message "Love you forever."
Kaylee Baker, Bateman Brunson, Emilee Byrd, Mary Michael Walker, Dori Williams, Haley Williams and Olivia Wilson served as bridesmaids. Molly Montgomery served as flower girl.
The bridegroom's father served as best man. Groomsmen were Briggs Aycock, Jeremy Byrd, Raymond Davis, Devin Grenville, Graison Matthews, Taylor Norris and Tyler Riles. Grai Matthews served as ring bearer.
The reception was held at The Johannah House.
The rehearsal party was held at Second Mill Restaurant.
Following a wedding trip to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, the couple resides in Alcolu.
