McLeod Health Clarendon hosts blood drive

MANNING - McLeod Health Clarendon, 10 E. Hospital St., is hosting a blood drive from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 17. All donors will receive a $10 Visa card. To make an appointment, please contact Stacy Mosier at (803) 435-3156.

Face coverings are recommended while donating and are required in Manning. All donors will be tested for COVID-19 antibodies with every blood donation.

Manning Farmers Market is open each Saturday

MANNING - The Manning Farmers Market at the corner of West Boyce and North Church streets is open from 8 a.m. until noon each Saturday. For more information, please call Carrie Trebil at (803) 435-8477.

Locally grown vegetables, fruit and plants are usually available.

Businesses can participate in Chamber campaign

MANNING - The Clarendon County Chamber of Commerce is promoting businesses throughout the county through its "Going Green for Prosperity and Growth" campaign. To be a part of the campaign, contact the Chamber at (803) 435-4405 or email chamber@clarendoncounty.com, and a Chamber staff or board member will drop off a sign to display in the window of your business and a green bow. A photo will be taken of you with your sign and posted on social media.

Chamber accepting annual award nominations

MANNING - The Clarendon County Chamber of Commerce is now accepting nominations for Business Person of the Year, Citizen of the Year and Ambassador of the Year.

The annual awards are sponsored by Bank of Clarendon, Farmers Telephone Cooperative and George and Carole Summers, respectively.

To make a nomination, contact the Chamber at (803) 435-4405 or email chamber@clarendoncounty.com. All nominations must be returned to the Chamber by Aug. 21. The award winners will be announced via email and Facebook in early September.

Duckfest T-shirts on sale

SUMMERTON - The T-shirts for 2020 Summerton Duckfest are on sale.

Short-sleeve T-shirts in sizes small to extra large are $15 each. Short-sleeve T-shirts in sizes 2X and larger are $18 each. Long-sleeve T-shirts are $25.

The T-shirts can be purchased at Summerton Drugs, Ginger's Flower Shop and Summerton Hardware.

2020 Striped Bass Festival merchandise on sale

MANNING - Commemorative 2020 Striped Bass Festival T-shirts and hats are on sale at the Clarendon County Chamber of Commerce. To order your shirt, call (803) 435-4405. Curbside pickup is available.

Choose from charcoal or blue shirts. T-shirts in sizes youth XS-Adult XL are $15 each. T-shirts in sizes 2XL to 5XL are $20 each. Hats are $15 each.

Heart Walk celebration can now be seen online

MANNING - The Sumter Clarendon Heart Walk Virtual Year End Celebration is now available for viewing by logging onto https://bit.ly/3ku6IwO.

Christina Darby, director of development of the Sumter Heart Walk American Heart Association, said the virtual tour shows the hard work that the Manning-Sumter teams did to make this year's event so successful.

Second-annual OverComers' celebration planned

MANNING - The Clarendon County Sheriff's Office in partnership with Clarendon County Cancer OverComers is hosting the second-annual OverComers' Drive-Thru Celebration this fall.

The COVID-19 pandemic changed the annual event from an actual walk to a drive-through event with participants remaining in their vehicles. Free takeout meals will be handed out while supplies last.

The proceeds from the sale of the T-shirts and hats will go to the Clarendon County Cancer OverComers' organization.
