BRENDA D. BARRINEAU

Brenda Driggers Barrineau, 59, died July 2 in a Lake City hospital after an illness.

Born in Williamsburg County, she was a daughter of the late Thaddaus Thomas Driggers and Ottis Jane Scurry Driggers. She was a retired postmaster with the U.S. Postal Service, having retired from Olanta Post Office, and worked and served at many other post offices. She was an officer of NAPUS, was former editor of the Palmetto Postmaster magazine and was a member of Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Church.

She is survived by her husband, William "Winky" Barrineau of Olanta; her children, Camela "C.J." (Shay) Frye of Olanta, Damia (Dusty) Harcrow, Billy(Cherri) Barrineau of Florence and Brooks (Tara) Barrineau of Olanta; two sisters, Ollie (John) Jashinsky and Pat (John) Wegrzynowski, both of Columbia; one brother, Tommy (Sandra) Driggers of Florence; nine grandchildren, Jessica Welch, Austin Welch, Cole Barrineau, Brittany Hamilton, Jackson Barrineau, Hayden Frye, Carson Frye, Holden Frye, and Cayli Harcrow; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held July 4 at Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Church with burial in Thomas Cemetery directed by Floyd Funeral Home.

HARRY LEE BELSER Jr.

Harry Lee Belser Jr., 55, widower of Minnie Canty Belser, died June 28 at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.

Born Sept. 26, 1954, in Summerton, he was a son of Henry Sr. and Rosa Bowman Belser. He attended Clarendon County public schools. He was a member of Mount Pleasant UME Church and was employed with Stebbius Engineering.

Survivors besides his parents of the home include two daughters, Addie (Ernie) Belser of the home and Michelle Walker of Clinton; three sons, Henry Belser III of the home, David Canty of Florida and Steve (Heather) Brown of Wilmington, Del.; two grandchildren he reared as his own, Tyshawn and Jamauri of the home; a brother, Sam Belser of Summerton; nine sisters, Emma Junious, Joan Belser and Hester Belser, all of Summerton, Sarah (Earl) Johnson, Maxine (Maurice) Whitfield and Deloris Belser, all of High Point, N.C., Addie Mae Kind, Rena (James) McConico and Bertha (Terry) Martin, all of Thomasville, N.C.; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services were held July 2 at Mount Pleasant UME Church, 1628 Fullerton Road, Pinewood, with the Rev. Mary L. Brailsford, pastor, officiating. Burial was held in the churchyard cemetery.
