BETTY JANE DOWD M. BULSTERBAUM

Betty Jane Dowd McGibeny Bulsterbaum, 77, died on Thursday, Nov. 12, 2020, at her home.

Born on Aug. 20, 1943, in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Jacob Shealy Dowd and Lenora Odeila Cartwright Dowd. She was a member of Sumter First Baptist Church and retired from Yellow Freight Systems.

Survivors include two daughters, Andrea L. Fickling (Frank) of Sumter and Lisa Lemacks (Michael) of Charleston; and grandchildren, Walker Fickling, Andrew Vermeland, Jacob Lemacks, Hannah Grace Lemacks, Bella Lemacks and Noah Lemacks.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon McGibeny Vermeland; and a sister, Ann McIntyre.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Bob Calvert officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.

Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
