BESSIE W. BROCK

Bessie Wilson Brock, widow of Mood Brock, died on Thursday, Aug. 12, 2010, at Clarendon Memorial Hospital.

Born April 26, 1921, in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., she was a daughter of the late Dozier and Sally Beasley Wilson. She attended Clarendon County public schools. She was a member of Friendship AME Church, Silver.

Survivors include three daughters, Elizabeth (Castine) Ridgill of Manning, and Margaret Ann Brock and Teressa Brock, both of the Silver community; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Richard Brock; one daughter, Odell Burns; four sisters, Maggie, Bell, Rena and Ida; and one brother, Willie.

Funeral services were held Aug. 21 at Friendship AME Church with the Rev. Harvey Sutton, pastor, officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

The family received friends at the home, 1276 Sterling Drive, Silver.
