BARBARA ARDIS MARTIN

Barbara "Sis" Ardis Martin, 79, died on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital.

Born on Sept. 3, 1942, in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Joseph McDuffie Ardis and Amber Ida Ardis. She attended New Start Community Church of the Nazarene and retired from Cooper Tools after 24 years of service.

Survivors include two children, Bobby G. "Jerry" Martin (Connie) and Sonia Allen (David), both of Sumter; three grandchildren, Christopher Martin (Ashley) of Manning, Kristen Allen of Columbia and Emily Ann Allen of Sumter; four great-grandchildren, Emily Vining, Caitlin Martin, Kelsie Martin and Casey Martin; and her special companion cat, Buster.She was preceded in death by six siblings.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Monday at New Start Community Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Donna Green and the Rev. Sammy Geddings officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home.
