The Bank of Clarendon started the New Year off by giving back to the Manning community.

Bank of Clarendon Chairman Rose Buyck Newton and bank CEO Will Buyck awarded an $11,000 donation to the H.P. "Mutt" Bozard Memorial Foundation in remembrance of community servant and longtime bank board member, Dr. Mutt Bozard. Bozard is remembered as a devoted citizen of Clarendon County. He was a battalion chief and former chairman of the fire board of the Clarendon County Fire Department, a member of the Manning Fire Department, the S.C. State Firefighters' Association, the Pee Dee Firefighters' Association, and was a state director of the National Volunteer Fire Council. He was inducted into the S.C. State Firefighters' Hall of Fame.

Bank of Clarendon President J. Barry Ham presented the check to Dr. Bozard's son, H.P. "Bo" Bozard Jr., and daughter, Ashton Bozard. Several members of the Clarendon County Fire Department as well as board members of the H.P. Bozard Memorial Foundation were in attendance. Manning Fire Chief Michael Johnson and Jay Bruner, chairman of the foundation board, both made comments during the presentation recognizing Bozard's commitment to this community and to Clarendon County firefighters.

Bank of Clarendon, with $270 million in assets, is the only independently owned and managed community bank headquartered in the Santee-Lynches region.
