Downtown Sumter Fourth Fridays presents Bad Water at 6:30 p.m. today on Main Street. Bring a chair and be sure to wear your dancing shoes. There will be food and beverage vendors available. No coolers.

The Sumter Branch NAACP will meet at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 25, at Goodwill Presbyterian Church, 295 N. Brick Church Road.

Computer classes will be offered at Paxville Community Development Center, 10183 Lewis Road / S.C. 261, Paxville, beginning Aug. 26. Adult readiness classes will be 5:30-7:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays and senior citizen classes will be 12:30-1:30 p.m. Tuesday. The Detox-Relax with Colors Coloring Group will meet from 3:30 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 27, at the Wesmark Branch of the Sumter County Library, 180 W. Wesmark Blvd. The group meets every fourth Tuesday for a quiet, relaxing session of coloring for adults. Come unwind with soft music and good company. The library provides coloring sheets and colors but attendees are welcome to bring their own.

McLeod Hospice will offer a "Hospice Volunteering 101" class for persons interested in helping hospice patients and/or assisting hospice support staff in Clarendon and Sumter counties. The volunteer training program will be held 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, at the volunteer services office of McLeod Health Clarendon, 10 Hospital St., Manning. The Sumter Combat Veterans Group will hold its annual golf tournament on Saturday, Sept. 14, at Crystal Lakes Golf Course, 1305 Clara Louise Kellogg Drive. There will be a 9 a.m. shotgun start. Registration fee is $50 per golfer limited to the first 40 teams. Fee includes continental breakfast, lunch, cart and green fees, souvenir for each participant and refreshments during play.
