ANNA RUTH SCOTT

Anna Ruth Scott was born on May 5, 1942, in Sumter, a daughter of the late Eugene and Christine Burris Wilson. She departed this life on Thursday, Feb. 25, 2021, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital.

She was educated in the public schools of Sumter County. At an early age, she joined Sumter Seventh Day Adventist Church. For many years, she worked as a certified nursing assistant at Watch Home Care.

Her survivors include two daughters, Sharon Scott Pinkney of Sumter and Stacey Conyers of Columbia; a son, Micheal Scott of the home; two sisters, Delores Wheeler of Sumter and Irene Wilson Beata of Lithonia, Georgia; three grandchildren, Falenceio Scott of Sumter, Robert McFadden and Shakemah Conyers of Columbia; eight great-grandchildren; reared in her home, a nephew, Boris Beata; and a grandniece, Tasha Warren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Lorenzo Scott.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Salem Chapel & Heritage Center with Dr. Lewis Walker Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Walker Cemetery.
