PUEBLO, Colo. - Ambrose Tucker Mallett, 64, husband of Rama Eeims Mallett, died Friday, Feb. 25, 2011, at Sangre-de-Cristo Hospice Care Facility in Pueblo.

Born Aug. 25, 1946, in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Ambrose Albertus "Bert" Mallett and Catherine Perkins Mallett, and was reared by his grandmother Dahila "Plummie" Burgess Mallett. He was also the brother of William "Bill" Mallett and Ida B. McCullough, both of Manning.

MARION E. PEAVY Jr.

Marion E. "Gene" Peavy Jr., 52, husband of Rosemary Hucks Peavy, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.

Born in Sumter, he was a son of Joyce Carolyn Atkinson and the late Marion E. Peavy Sr. Mr. Peavy was a member of Summerton Baptist Church and the Palmetto Drag Racers Association. He was a retired truck driver.

Survivors include his wife of Sumter; his mother of Sumter; two children, Brandi Renee Earles (Lathan) of Summerton and Ira Wade Peavy of Sumter; four grandchildren, Kameron, McKinnely-Grayce, Brooks and Asher Earles; two brothers, Mark Peavy and Bruce Peavy, both of Sumter; and two sisters, Beverlee Johnson of Barnwell and Wendi Floyd of Turbeville.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 1, 2011, at the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Bob Ashba officiating. Burial followed in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family received friends at the home, 883 Kolb Road.

Ira Peavy, Zach Peavy, Mike Craft, Tommy Clark, Dale Dubose and Jackie McIntosh served as pallbearers.
