On Monday, Oct. 22, 2018, at Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia, our Heavenly Father called Adele Brown Allen home from her earthly labor to the home He has prepared for her. Adele was born in Sumter on March 8, 1935. She was the widow of James Allen and the daughter of the late George and Adele Singleton Brown.

She attended the public schools in Sumter and graduated from Lincoln High School with the Class of 1954.

At an early age, she freely gave her life to Christ and joined the Trinity Baptist Church, where she faithfully attended for more than 70 years. She served as a member of the L.W. Walker Mass Choir, Kitchen Ministry, Hospitality Ministry, Usher Board and Mass Choir and the President of the Hallelujah Choir.

She was employed with Crescent Tools Company, retiring in 1999. She later worked from 2006-2014 with Meals on Wheels.

The light of this beloved Angel will shine through her family, children, Linda K. Brown, William "Bubba" (Eris) Allen and Angela (Andre) Dixon, all of Sumter, and Valerie "Darcel" Allen and Tracey (Amber) Allen, both of Columbia; brothers, John (Essie) Brown, Kent Washington and William Brown, all of Sumter; one sister, Maggie (Marvin) Moore of Greenville, North Carolina; one sister-in-law, Yvonne Allen of Sumter; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; nine nephews; 11 nieces; a very special friend, Frank L. Grant; special friends, Mr. and Mrs. John and Bertha Willis, Mr. and Mrs. Louis and Brenda Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Pete and Deloris Robinson, Mr. and Mrs. Henry and Grace Richardson and Mr. Willie Abraham.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, George "Buster," Jim and Isaac Brown; two sisters, Lillie Mae Blair and Frizelle Ragin; and a grandson, Patrick Brown.

Public viewing will be held on Saturday from 2-6 p.m. at Job's Mortuary.

Mrs. Allen will be placed in the church on Sunday at 2 .p.m for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday at Trinity Baptist Church, 155 Wall Street Sumter, with Pastor Larry C. Weston officiating.

Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park.

Family will receive friends at the home, 527 W. Oakland Ave., Sumter, SC.
