Information provided to Sumter Police have led to the arrest of two teenage boys. The 13- and 15-year-old suspects have been arrested in connection with an attempted armed robbery on Tuesday night at the Young's Store on Camden Highway.

Both teens, whose names cannot be released because of their ages, were arrested Wednesday morning and were taken to a Department of Juvenile Justice facility in Columbia.

According to reports, one of the teens entered the convenience store at about 8 p.m. and made a purchase. As the store clerk handed him change, the teen pulled a handgun and pointed it at the clerk. The clerk closed the register and hit the silent alarm button before the suspect fled on foot.

According to police, the robber then joined the other suspect, who they think served as a lookout.

No one was injured and no money or merchandise were taken from the store.
