Two bodies were found inside a burning vehicle parked on Foxville Road Monday morning.

Deputy Adrienne Sarvis, public information officer for the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, said the county agency, with assistance from S.C. Law Enforcement Division and the Sumter County Coroner’s Office, is investigating the suspected arson and suspicious deaths.

The Sumter Fire Department had extinguished the flames from the vehicle by the time deputies arrived at the scene just past the Park N Ride by Shaw Air Force Base.

Sumter County Coroner Robbie Baker said autopsies will be performed Wednesday morning at MUSC in Charleston and that his office is working to identify the remains.
