On Tuesday night, Sumter School District celebrated the journey of 18 young men in the 4th Grade Boys to Men Club at Alice Drive Elementary School, led by Shauntae Bines. This powerful initiative launched with the goal of guiding the boys on their path from boyhood to manhood through mentorship, guest speakers and meaningful conversations. Throughout the year, monthly meetings helped the boys develop life skills and values to become responsible, successful and productive members of society. The evening's event was the culmination of their growth - a heartfelt celebration in their honor. With the boys leading much of the program, guest speaker Sumter Police Chief Russell Roark delivered a powerful message reinforcing the impact of the club and the greatness within each of them.
