Thank you to Sumter organizations for support after loss of wife

Posted

I want to thank all the people who sent their kind thoughts and prayers, brought food, checked on me and my family and took care of things that we didn't notice or have the heart to address. I have lived in many places in my life, but the Sumter community has been my home these 20-plus years.

The people and organizations of Sumter are kind, caring and supportive. Over the years, people have provided time, money and talent to many of the community organizations that reach out to others that might need a hand from time to time - organizations to which I can proudly say I serve as a member or support. These include Toys for Tots, Marine Corps League, Sons of the American Revolution, Christian Charities Food Pantry, Knights of Columbus, VFW, American Legion, DAV and St. Anne and St. Jude's Parish. All of these organizations do good work in Sumter, and they were there for me and my family as they have been for many in our community.

I would like to express my gratitude to these organizations that have been so supportive of me and my family in this difficult time of grief over the loss of my wife of 64 years.
