God made a special visit to Teka Lekia Rhinehart Alston of Wedgefield and took her home with Him on Sunday, Sept. 16, 2018.

Ms. Alston was born on Aug. 1, 1980, in Sumter County, a daughter of Jennifer (Eddie) Jones and the late Eugene Rhinehart Jr. Teka was educated in the public schools of Sumter County. She was a 1999 graduate of Sumter High School and attended Central Carolina Technical College. At a very early age, she and her family were members of the Jehovah Missionary Baptist Church of Sumter. While attending Jehovah, she attended church faithfully and participated in various ministries. Teka was employed for many years at Sykes Enterprises as a supervisor. She also worked at the GATE gas station on Liberty Street and, most recently, at the El Cheapo Gas Station on North Main Street as a sales associate.

Many loving and wonderful memories are left to her adorable son, Koran Eugene Rich of the home; her loving mother, Jennifer B. Jones; stepfather, Eddie Jones; her sisters, Tenika (Johnathan) Chambers of Columbia, Gina L. McKnight of Lauderhill, Florida, Jennifer A. Jones of New York and Karen Rhinehart and Tiffany Alston, both of Sumter; three brothers, Eugene Rhinehart III, Fredrick Johnson and Jahrod McLeod, all of Sumter; maternal grandmother, Annie Mae (James) Choice of Sumter; uncles, Raleigh C. Brunson of Atlanta, Crandall A. Choice of Phoenix and Charles H. Rhinehart Sr. of Sunrise, Florida; aunts, Glenda (Stanley) Phillips, Carolyn (Ordley Jr.) Heatley and Ralean (Goliath Jr.) Brunson, all of Sumter, Lucy R. (Raymond) Thomas of Lauderhill, Ruby R. (Ralph) Rachels of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Brenda R. (Ranzy) Richardson, Beverly R. Washington, Cynthia R. (Roy) Graham, Vivian (Carlos) Fernandez, Cynthia (Wallace) Wright, Villia Jones and Demita Jones, all of Sumter, and Clealia Jones of New York; her best friend, Toneka Reed and her children; and a host of special nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.

In addition to her father, Teka was preceded in death by one brother, Derrick Johnson; her grandparents, Raleigh Brunson, Eugene Rhinehart Sr. and Janie Mae Rhinehart; and great-grandparents, Geneva H. Scarborough, Jessie Scarborough and London Hammond.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at First Baptist Missionary Church, 219 S. Washington St., Sumter, with Pastor George P. Windley officiating and Pastor Ricky Simmons, eulogist. Interment will follow at Bradford Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at 4361 Granada Drive, Sumter.
