For today's show, we're giving you a recap of the tri-county region's very first eSTEAM festival. TheLINK and Sumter Economic Development organized the family fun day to be geared around hands-on kids activities focused on STEAM which stands for science, technology, engineering, art and math taught in schools as an official accredited curriculum. The goal of the event was to engage kids and their parents in potential future careers in the variety of workforces available right here in Sumter and the surrounding area, and you could tell immediately the kids were having a great time.
