If you are a consistent watcher of us at Sumter Today, you've probably seen multiple episodes on the Sumter Fire Department and what they do around the community to keep us safe. But whether you tune in every day or this is your first time, you'll be glad you watched today as we go to Alice Drive fire station, where Ms. Selena Smith and other firefighters teach a group of kindergartners from Willow Drive Elementary School about fire safety. Being a firefighter is about more than running into burning buildings, and this heartfelt display of community engagement is a huge arm of what the fire department does to better our community.
