The fifth-grade art students in Tonya Durant's class were excited about decorating Christmas ornaments in memory of Dr. Carl G. Whetsell. Lemira Elementary School partnered with the Tuomey Foundation to decorate a Christmas tree for the 17th-annual Festival of Trees. Many of the students were patients of Whetsell and wrote kind words about him. The art students also drew medical supplies, equipment and baby items to adorn the snowflake ornaments. Samantha Smith and Michelle Hanenkrath had a great time decorating the tree in the nursery area of the Women's Center. If you would like to see the tree, please stop by the nursery area of the Women's Center at Palmetto Health Tuomey.
