Sumter school board meets on superintendent search

After meeting last night, Sumter School District's Board of Trustees will make it back-to-back nights with another meeting tonight.

A district spokeswoman distributed an agenda Sunday.

Most of the discussion will take place in executive session and behind closed doors, according to the agenda.

After open session remarks, the trustees will enter into executive session to hear contractual proposals from superintendent search firms, the agenda states.

Legal counsel will also provide the board with advice relating to proposed contractual arrangements with a search firm.

The board is considering using a search consultant in its upcoming search for its next full-time superintendent.

A former Richland District 2 superintendent and long-time administrator, Debbie Hamm is in her second and final year as the district's interim superintendent.

Tonight's meeting begins at 6 p.m. at the district office, 1345 Wilson Hall Road.

Like all board-related meetings, the public is invited, but public participation is not on the agenda.
