2 suspects sought in Friday morning armed robbery of Sumter Pawn Shop on Broad

Sumter police are working to identify two men allegedly involved in an armed robbery of Sumter Pawn Shop Friday morning, according to Tonyia M. McGirt, public information officer for Sumter Police Department.

According to a news release, police responded to 705 Broad St. shortly after 10:45 a.m.

Employees of the shop reported that two men wearing dark-colored clothing and their faces covered entered the business and took an undetermined amount of cash and a firearm before fleeing on foot.

Reports show at least one of the men was armed. Both are described as weighing between 160 and 180 pounds. One is described as 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches, while the other is described as 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches.

A cash reward may be available for information leading to an arrest.
