Sumter man charged with burglary for Mayesville break-in

On Thursday, Sumter County Sheriff’s Office charged a man, 58, with burglary for allegedly kicking in a door during an apparent break-in on Aug. 1.

John Wesley Moses, of Jerry Street, is accused of entering a residence in the 2000 block of Avenue B in Mayesville without consent. Once inside, Moses fled the property when he saw the homeowner.

Moses is charged with second degree burglary.
