POLICE BLOTTER: Sumter man arrested after allegedly running other car off road

Ricky A. Godwin, 29, of Whaley Street, was arrested on Monday and charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature for allegedly striking a person's vehicle while driving on Oct. 28 in the 200 block of Old Manning Road, causing it to veer off the roadway. According to a news release from Sumter County Sheriff's Office, the incident resulted in $1,000 in damage.

Eric A. Thompson, 19, of Lee Street in Rembert, was arrested on Thursday, Nov. 9, and charged with second-degree burglary for allegedly entering a residence in the 10 block of Lee Street and taking items valued at $985. The incident was captured by surveillance video, according to a news release from Sumter County Sheriff's Office.

Joe Tajharey Natron "CQ" McFadden, 26, of House Road in Sumter, Jarrett Jackson Jr., 45, of Oliver Street in Manning, and Levern Gerow, 58, last address unknown, were arrested on Monday, Nov. 13, and charged with first-degree burglary for allegedly entering a residence in the 6400 block of Meeting House Road in Dalzell and taking two TVs valued at about $800. A news release from Sumter County Sheriff's Office indicated the suspects may have taken other items.

STOLEN PROPERTY

A washing machine, unknown make, valued at $400, and a dryer, unknown make, valued at $400, were reportedly stolen from a residence in the 900 block of Mana Drive between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 12.

A black 16-foot homemade trailer with the number 11308 welded on the front, valued at $1,500, was reportedly stolen from a parking lot in the 100 block of Myrtle Beach Highway about 7:45 p.m. on Monday.

A black 55-inch TCL TV, valued at $460, and a black 55-inch TV, unknown brand, valued at $450, were reportedly stolen from a residence in the 700 block of McKay Road between 6:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
