Sumter High School will be getting a rematch in the first round of the South Carolina High School League 5A football state playoffs as it will play host to Region IV foe Spring Valley on Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Sumter Memorial Stadium.

Crestwood, Manning and Scott's Branch also made the playoffs as well. Crestwood will travel to Hartsville in the 4A playoffs, Manning will be at home against Swansea in the 3A playoffs and Scott's Branch will visit Hemingway in the 1A playoffs.
The Gamecocks are 9-0 and won the region title. They defeated Spring Valley 38-0 on Oct. 19. Sumer is actually in the upper state bracket as Region IV has teams in both the upper state and lower state brackets.
The Vikings are 7-3 on the season and earned the at-large berth in the upper state bracket. After losing to Sumter, Spring Valley won its final two games, beating Blythewood 10-3 and Chapin 34-0 on Friday.
As long as Sumter wins, it is assured of home games in the first three rounds of the playoffs. The Sumter-Spring Valley winner will take on the winner between Westside and Byrnes in the second round.
Byrnes is 8-2 overall and is the No. 2 seed from Region II. It finished in a 3-way tie for first with Gaffney and Dorman. Westside is 5-5 and finished third in Region I.
Crestwood earned an at-large berth in the 4A lower state bracket by winning its final two games. That included a 47-7 triumph over Darlington on Thursday to finish the regular season 2-8. Hartsville is 9-0 and won the Region VI title. The Crestwood-Hartsville winner will meet either Brookland-Cayce or Beaufort in the second round.
Manning goes into the playoffs with a 7-3 record and finished second in Region VIII. Swansea is 2-7 and finished third in Region V. The winner of the game will take on the winner between defending state champion and Ridgeland-Hardeeville.
Scott's Branch is 3-7, finished fourth in Region V and is coming off of a 42-20 triumph over Military Magnet on Friday. Hemingway is 4-5 and finished third in Region VI. The winner of the game will take on Region V champion Bethune-Bowman in the second round.
